TTD decides to preserve Annamayya keertans; create Annamaiah Gallery

Tirumala, Aug 18 : The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Specified Authority, the highest decision making body of the world famous Venkateswara Swamy temple, in its meeting tonight approved for the scientific preservation of copper plates comprising 12000-odd songs composed by great saint poet Annamacharya on the praise of Lord Venkateswara.

Talking to the mediapersons after the specified authority meeting held at Annamayya Bhavan here, Specified Authority Chairman J Satyanarayana said the TTD has also decided to popularise Annamayya songs with pictorial depiction of these songs in Tamil, Kannada, English and Hindi languages apart from Telugu by creating an exclusive Annamaiah Gallery in the museum, TTD said in a release here.

The Specified Authority also decided to appoint Dharma Pracharaks and 12 Dharma Vistaraks exclusively to take up Hindu Dharma Prachara in all the 23 districts( with two members of Dharma Pracharaks each) and in Harijans and Girijan areas respectively, he said.

Kalyanotsavam in Swati Nakshatra at Tarigonda Lakshmi NarasimhaSwamy temple every month, the release added.

Later, the Specified Authority Chairman along with TTD Executive Officer Subramanyam , inaugurated the renovated publications stall opposite Tirumala shrine.
