Launching of TAM Foundation 22/05/2011 @PWTC,Kuala Lumpur

About 80 students of Telugu Association of members' children were awarded with Medals, Certificates & Cash from RM500 to RM1500 for doing very well in their SPM/STPM.
It is Malaysian Telugus' 50 years old dream coming true besides the gathering itself at PWTC, Kuala Lumpur, which is the very first time in the TAM's history(my dreamt too). I believe it has all started, way back in 2006 when Dr.Achaiah Kumar, then Deputy President and me( Vice President & Education chairman) attending the Malayalees(Amma) Education Fund Dinner. WE were very impressed with their Amma Education fund system. After which, I proposed "Establishment of Telugu Education Fund" together with the bylaws at one of the TAM Executive Committee which was later approved at 36th Biennial Delegates' Conference held on 29 October, 2006 as to establish "Education Trust Fund for TAM". Later in 2007 the TAM new committee organised a Gala Dinner raising funds. However it was not registered for the reason that total fund has not reached 1 million. Later when TAM Mega Event "An Evening with Prime Minister was held on 8/10/2010 at PICC Putrajaya and RM 3 millions from PM had made it reality.

Though Andhra Association of Malaya which is now known as TAM was established in 1955 but it was in 2002 that Youth and Mahila sections were allowed .This was during Sri B Murthy BKM, PPN then the President and I being the Secretary General of TAM.

It was also the very first time that Sri B. Murthy BKM, PPN also appointed both the youth and mahila leaders as Vice Presidents of TAM as provided in the Rule 16 of our TAM Constitution.

Glad to note that both the sections are organising a number of events and working closely with TAM HQ.

"Today's youth is tomorrow's Leader.

Will TAM(mother)would also hold its 39th Biennial Delegates Conference at PWTC, Kuala Lumpur.

Where is the support from Malaysian Telugus ?

‎************* Are Malaysian Telugu Dead or Alive? **************

As per our TAM official website telugus in malaysia are 300,000+ but when we screened a telugu movie in malaysia the people watching themovie are less than 1000.See the below statistics of PANJAA movie.Last week total 827 people watched in Federal Theater,Out of that Local Telugus are just 50 people. If you see the percentage 827/300,000=0.002756, itz not even 0.1 percent.

In other countries of the world though there is a less count they are encouraging telugu cinmea. But when it comes to malaysia we can say its in poor condition...Then where we are respecting our MOTHER TOUNGE...CULTURE....HERITAGE.....

We are spending a lot of money but when it comes to telugu movie we'll start calculating just for 15 RM.....Itz the only place many telugu people can gather frequently and you can make more friends

My dear friends on this occassion i'm requesting all my telugu friends please encourage telugu cinema in malaysia, the people who are releasing the movies are not enough rich to bear the loss every time. As they want to show the current trends among telugu people through movies...You encourage them just by spending 15 RM or still you felt price is high you request them but don't miss this rare opportunities...

By considering the price.....we are reducing the price on this weekend screening of PANJAA telugu movie......Itz just 12 RM...please come and watch on big screen and meet all our telugu friends

Telugu Laddu goes into Guinness World Records

Andhra 'laddu' enters Guinness World Records

Hyderabad, Nov 18 : A huge 5,570-kg 'laddu' prepared for the recent Ganesh festival in Andhra Pradesh has entered the Guinness World Records.

The laddu was prepared by Suvarnabhoomi Developers Private Limited in Tapeswaram, which is famous for Andhra sweet 'kaja'. Satish Reddy of the real estate firm showed the certificate received from Guinness to media persons in Visakhapatnam.

The laddu was prepared for the 117 ft-tall idol of Ganesha installed in Visakhapatnam in September and was used as 'prasadam' (offering) for devotees during the 21-day long festival. It was the tallest idol installed in the state this year.

As many as 50 workers laboured for a week to make the laddu, the ingredients of which included sugar, flour, moong dal and dry fruits.

The record of the largest laddu (551 kg) was earlier held by a Hindu temple in Britain.

Interestingly, a sweet shop of Tapeswaram had prepared 450 kg laddu for a 55 ft-tall idol at Khairatabad in Hyderabad.

The village in Mandapet mandal of East Godavari district is well known for Kaja sweets. The Telugu sweet are famed not only in the entire state but also in the United States.

Sri Rama Rajyam worth watching

Sri Rama Rajyam' a must watch

By V.S. Rajapur, Film: "Sri Rama Rajyam"; Cast: Nandamuri Balakrishna, Nayantara, Akkineni Nageswar Rao, Srikanth, Brahmanandam, K.R. Vijay, Murali Mohan, Master Tanay Teja and Master Satvik. Producer: Yalamanchili Sai Baba; Director: Bapu; Dialogue Writer: Mullapudi Venkata Ramana; Music Composer: Ilayaraja; Cinematography: P.R.K Raju; Rating: ****

Octogenarian director Bapu has been described as one of the top directors who specialised in making films that represented nativity, culture and richness of folk elements peculiar to the Telugu language.

Bapu and late writer Mullapudi Venkataramana teamed up to deliver classics like "Muthyaala Moggu", "Budhdhimanthudu" and "Andaala Ramudu".

Venkataramana died few months ago and this time Bapu teamed up with Ramana to deliver another classic called "Sri Rama Rajyam", a remake of 1960s Telugu hit "Lava Kusha".

While the Senior NTR, who dominated the Telugu film industry like a Colossus for more than four decades, had acted in the original film directed by C.S. Rao and Pulliah, Bapu's film has Nandamuri Balakrishna, NTR's son, in the lead.

"Sri Rama Rajyam" is one film that the Telugu film industry can be proud of. In these days, when everything is commercialised and films have an overdose of sex and violence, kudos to the producer to opt for a mythological film, which is made tastefully and with commitment.

"Rama Rajyam" is a well-known story, so it's a challenge to remake such a classic, but Bapu's good work turns the remake into another classic.

Bapu wins his first battle by picking up the right artists. Selecting legendary actor Akkineni Nageshwara Rao, contemporary of NTR, to play Valmiki and actress Nayantara for Sita's role are certainly worthy choices.

He chose to narrate the film in a peculiar style, a fusion of artistic and tasteful commercial elements. The art work and designing part is also perfect.

Ilayaraja's music is another major attraction. Dialogues and song lyrics are so good that you do not want to miss them.

It would be difficult to pick up holes in the films which appeals strongly to people who want to look at films that offer variety.

Balakrishna, Nayantara and Akkineni Nageshwara excel in their respective roles.

Balakrishna effectively portrays Rama and comes out as a winner, which seemed a difficult task considering his legendary father's portrayal of Rama has penetrated deep into the Telugu audience psyche.

Nayantara's swang song role as Sita is so good that you think she has opted for the best film to bid adieu to acting.

The two child artists have also performed very well. Other artists are sure to make an impact. Technically also film is strong.

"Sri Rama Rajyam" stands taller among mythological classics and may well set standards like other Telugu classics like "Annamayya", "Krishnarjuna Yuddham" and "Ramadasu"

Filmgoers, who look for classics, should not miss this film.

Sri Rama Rajyam releasing on 18-20 /11/2011 in Malaysia

Ideal Brain Review :-

Rating: 3.75/5
Punchline: classic story retold
Genre: Mythology
Type: Straight
Banner: Sri Sai Baba Movies

Artists Performance

Bala Krishna Nandamuri: Bala Krishna deserves a huge applause for accepting this script. Bala Krishna is probably the one of very few actors in current Telugu film industry who can do justice to mythological roles. But the Rama role in this movie is about subtlety and emotions. It needs calmness and measured acting. Bala Krishna has done his role fabulously. Since is story is more about Seeta going to forests and the twins, there is ample footage for these three characters and Bala Krishna obliged it. Bala Krishna portrayed the inner turmoil Lord Rama went through very well. Bala Krishna has always been open for all kinds of scripts and roles. And this is the best film from Bala Krishna after Bhairava Dweepam in mythological/folklore genre.

Analysis:

First half is good. Second half is emotional. The film really picks up in terms of emotions from the scene where Seeta is left in forest. Bala Krishna and producer Sai Babu should get the huge credit for the risk they have taken. In an era, where the success of a film is measured by punch dialogues, dances, fights and bramhanandam’s comedy, Sri Ramarajyam is a refreshing and a brave film that tells the story as a story. After watching this movie - two people will get enormous respect - Bala Krishna and producer Sai Babu. This film has got music, visuals, emotions and performances in the right proportions. Bapu comes up with an interesting and sensible film in the form of Sri Ramarajyam. Go and watch it!

SAI RAM

Sri Sathya Sai Baba from Andhra Pradesh as Avataar

Sai Baba devotees celebrate Avataar declaration day

Puttaparthi (Andhra Pradesh), Oct 20: Avataar declaration day, the first after spiritual guru Sathya Sai Baba's demise, was celebrated Thursday with prayers in this Andhra Pradesh pilgrim town.

Special prayers were held at Prashanti Nilayam, the ashram and the final abode of Sai Baba.
An official of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust told IANS that devotees spent the day in prayers and quiet contemplation of his often repeated statement: "I am divine, but you too are divine. The only difference is I know about my divinity and you are unaware of it."
It was the first annunciation or Avataar declaration day after Sai Baba's death April 25 at age 85.
It was on this day in 1940 that Sai Baba, at the age of 14, declared that he was an Avatar or incarnation of God.
Then known as Rathnakaram Sathya Narayana Raju, he returned from school one day, cast away his books in front of his sister-in-law and announced: "I am no longer your Sathya. I am Sai Baba! My devotees beckon me. I have work to attend to. I am leaving!"
Sathya Sai Baba declared that he was the second of triple incarnation, the first being Shirdi Sai Baba, a popular saint of late 19th and early 20th centuries in Maharashtra.
Before his death in 1918, Shirdi Sai Baba had reportedly told devotees that he would born again after eight years in Madras Presidency.
Sathya Sai Baba was born at Puttaparthi in Anantapur district, then part of Madras Presidency, in 1926.

In 1963, Sathya Sai Baba predicted that he will re-incarnate as Prema Sai Baba in the Mandya district of Karnataka, eight years after he leaves his body.
