Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday released the logo and launched the website of the fourth World Telugu Conference being organised at Tirupati on December 27, 28 and 29.The logo is the same as the one designed for the first conference held in Hyderabad in 1975. www.worldteluguconference.com is an interactive website that not only provides a perspective about the previous conferences held in Hyderabad, Malaysia and Mauritius but also useful details about the upcoming event besides seeking suggestions on how best the event could be conducted.
‘FUNDS NO CONSTRAINT’
At an interaction with senior journalists and officials at his Camp Office, Mr. Reddy said funds would not be a constraint for organising the conference as his government was willing to bear the entire expenditure. He cautioned officials to make proper estimates of the delegates and others likely to attend the conference as the turnout may exceed expectations, considering that Tirupati would attract a heavy pilgrim influx at that time. The Chief Minister indicated that he would convene a meeting of people’s representatives of Chittoor district to seek their cooperation for the success of the conference
FEARS ALLAYED
Minister for Culture Vatti Vasanth Kumar said a sum of Rs. 5 crore out Rs. 25 crore sanctioned by the government had already been released. He sought to allay the apprehensions that regional or class disparities, if not addressed properly, would lead to a backlash. About 115 cultural organisations had been consulted on these issues and they had promised their full support.K. V. Ramanachari, Advisor to Government, Culture, earlier explained the salient features of the website. Members of the Cabinet sub-committee constituted to oversee arrangements for the conference, were present.
